In this game, you have the option to play online in servers that other people host. (I recommend playing with people you know for the best online experience!). You also have the choice of picking a color to go with your main character of choice as well

i ended up picking crimson for tails as i thought the color looked best on them :>. I felt like a darker color really fit the guy, and since then i stuck with it.

favorite zone

my favorite zone from any version of srb2 is deep sea zone! ive never been too crazy about water levels in sonic games but i found myself really liking dsz. the aestetic and design of this zone is very cool; i really like the idea of a hidden ruins area with water, and it seemed like the area held many secrets waiting to be explored. i also like the ost that is paired with the acts (specifically act 2 in 2.2 and act 1 in 2.1). another water themed level i like is the map from special stage 3; both its single player and multiplayer versions! theyre both something i enjoy

Levels

My favorite type of modded content. After a while of playing through the regular base game enough times, gameplay can surely get old fast, and thats where custom level packs come in. theres a handful of level packs i really like, old and new! My favorite passtime used to be discovering all the new levels that existed out there.

Level pack #1: starshys stages

Starshys stages is my favorite level pack. I really like the flow and look of these short and sweet maps, theyre always fun to play through for me and the emerald hunting bits in each zone are a neat addition. This level pack has a lot of replayability imo!

Level pack#2 : tortured planet

This pack is the opposite of starshys, with it having much longer zones, but i dont mind that at all! I enjoy the longer playtime, and like most of the zones in this pack! (a really small amount of them are tedious to go through.) its a really good time with friends, and is a good way to kill time if ya have lots of free time on your hands.

Level pack #3 sugoi trilogy

sugoi is a mod ported from one of the older versions of srb2 that is actually split into three separate parts. Each part has a different name, sugoi 1 just being called sugoi, sugoi 2 being called subarashii and sugoi three being called kimokawaii. Kimokawaii is my favorite out of the three so ill show some screenshots of a few levels from it here:

azure paradise zone

this level is a remade and ported custom level from an older version of srb2. i really like the night theme here and the color pallet of everything! the zone is also fun to play through and there are plenty of good spots for taking pictures :>

the first modded character ive ever used! When i first started playing srb2, skip was a popular modded character that showed up in almost every server, and for good reason- hes a well designed character! Hes a lot of fun to use and his main ability, which is building monitors is really simple but also very unique. It works really well. I also like his focus on collecting and exploring. I can def say this is a fun character to pick up at any time. :>

not too long ago, jana was added to skip as a sort of partner character. she has a speedboost ability, a sword, and a wall jumping ability. These abilities are neat, but they dont really stick with me as much as skip does. i still really like to play as this character though!

this character originally came from a fan comic! maimy is another simple but fun character to use. a defining characteristic of hers is her giant mace. you can use it to smack enemies or launch yourself off the ground after gaining speed, which is my favorite way to use the mace! I find that quite fun to do. She also has a little rocket jump ability that helps a lot with traveling vertically. download link here:

Whisper: ive never read idw before, but i saw whisper and really liked her design since the beginning! Being able to play as her in this game has been a lot of fun, and her abilities are handy as well. Whisper uses her gun to attack enemies and move throughout maps.
