i first took interest in pokemon back in 2016/2017 after playing smash 64 one day and looking at pikachu and jigglypuff's character data entries

smash 64 was a big part of my kid and teenage years and i played it a ton! i liked the extra info it gave for each character in the data entries. while viewing them, i noticed just how different pokemon data was compated to all the other characters in the game, and back then i knew next to nothing about pokemon aside from only knowing about pikachu, so i decided to learn about more pokemon related things and ever since then ive followed the series!

my first pokemon game was pokemon stadium! at the time my family just so happened to own a copy of it lying around (even though they didnt like pokemon much at the time-). playing through stadium for hours with my siblings really sparked an interest in the games that ive had ever since!

i first saw flareon as i played stadium, and their design caught my attention fairly quickly. ive always liked dog-like and fluffy animals, so flareon quickly became my favorite eeveelution due to how c u t e it is. its animations in stadium are also cute and silly looking sometimes lol. flareon is still my favorite eeveelution today

i have a really small amount of plushies and id like to get more! first pokemon plushie i got was the deliberd one that i got a couple years ago and the latest i got was the scorbunny one last year. id like to get some more of these someday and start a lil collection

i used to consider gen 3 my favorite generation since the first pokemon game i beat was sapphire, but i played that game about 2 times and never had the interest to revisit it again. when i played pokemon black, and especially black 2, i found myself revisiting those games maaaaany times - and at first that was because my save data would get wiped from the emulators i used to use on my phone years ago. but after a while i just began to enjoy those games for what they were, and i still revisit them to this day! i didnt really think much about the storylines, (although those were cool too) but the style, the music, character designs, difficulty, and pokemon all took my interest. i dont really seek out difficulty in pokemon games but i appreciated it in b/w. the gen 5 games really clicked with me in a way no other generation has, so i consider gen 5 to be my favorite generation! its also one of my very first introductions to pokemon, through the pokemon adventures manga, which was the first pokemon adventures manga i read, as well as one of the first mangas ive read in general. wouldnt mind revisiting it someday :>

Latest pmd game ive played:

i can say pmd is a big reason why i liked pokemon so much for a long time. it was one of the main games i used to play on the mobile emulator i had growing up. i didnt have a whole lot that i was really invested in at the time, and there wasnt much going on in my life back then. so pmd was something that i put a lot of time into, mainly after and during school. i didnt have a gba, or many of the pokemon games back then so i emulated a lot of them.

the mystery dungeron games are a really great part of the franchise! the storylines in the games were really engaging, the characters were cool, and the dungeon crawing aspect was really fun overall. i really like how important managing some items can be, and figuring out strategies is fun. sometimes im surprised that it exists, because its just so different from the mainline pokemon games. pokemon talk, and theres fully fleshed out stories- nothing youd really see in a lot of pokemon games, especially now. its another part of pokemon i come back to here and there, and ive recently replayed through pmd sky, and red rescue team. I beat one of the most painful (and fun) dungeons, purity forest for the first time not too long ago! the challenge and story aspects of mystery dungeon certainly make me return to the games, and just how fun they are to play and talk about with friends. If it werent for pmd, im not too sure if i wouldve followed pokemon for as long as i have- im glad i got to play through these games

gonna put some of my extra thoughts on other aspects of pokemon here, since there are other lil interesting things about the franchise that i find cool

anime - only anime series i saw all the way through was the xyz anime so far and itll probably be the only one i see for now - tried watching older seasons but i just wans really interested to be honest. i would like to maybe watch the indigo league season and the johto seasons though, one day.

its been a bit since ive last seen a pokemon film and id like to watch some more of em, especially the older ones from the 90s - early 2000s

here are the films ive seen so far:

cards: ever since sometime during last year, my family has been buying a lot of pokemon cards, and theyve collected a lot of special sparkly ones! I have a fair amount of cards myself, and here are my favorites:

i reeally like the cards in this style - thick outlines are something ive always really appreciated in artstyles. It sticks out a lot!

some cards will come in a little set and will have a short story like a comic book or manga - i only have one set of these so far, but here they are :

im not as into pokemon as i used to be years ago. beyond the sun and moon games, ive kind of lost a lot of interest for the new releases lately-. i think current pokemon stuff aside from the merchandise just isnt for me anymore. unfortunate but i always revisit old pokemon games and have a blast with them, so it isnt all bad. maybe one day current pokemon will change but i dunno

in my copy of mystery dungeon red rescue team, i had a flaaffy during the post game. this flaaffy eventually became very strong and i had a lot of fun using their strong electric attacks! flaaffy is also a super cute pokemon so after a little while they became my favorite pokemon. ive started to appreciate sheep a lot more because of it :p
